Data Migration Analyst

We are recruiting for a Data Migration Analyst with our federal government client based in Canberra.

We are recruiting for a Data Migration Analyst for our client, a Canberra based federal government agency.

The Data Analyst will support a major data migration initiative, focused on transitioning data from multiple legacy and operational data sources into a modern enterprise data platform.

This role is delivery‑focused and hands‑on, concentrating on data discovery, source analysis, and migration readiness. The analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical delivery teams to understand existing data assets and translate that understanding into clear, documented migration requirements.

Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires regular engagement with non‑technical stakeholders to elicit business knowledge, validate data understanding, and support migration decisions.

The responsibilities will encompass a range of activities, including in-depth Source to Target Mapping analysis, comprehensive Data profiling to understand data characteristics and quality, the definition and documentation of business and data Quality Rules, and importantly, the analysis of existing logic within legacy source systems to inform the migration process and data model design. This role will be instrumental in ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and fit for purpose in the target cloud environment.
